I know this has been covered before, but "HQ" is below the search's word-length limit, so I can't find the answer.

Why is it better to only partially damage the HQ, instead of completely destroying it?  (I'm talking about the ability to drop supplies on it.)  I know the feature is as designed, I'm wondering why  that's as designed.

I think it was either in v.1.10 or v.1.11 that you could only resupply HQ if it was 100% destroyed, otherwise you had to wait for the AI drones to repair it.  Probably why some only like partially damaging the HQ because the downtime for the damaged parts will be longer.

I just figured it made more sense if, when doing your job right (blowing up the base), there was a better reward.  meh.  It's a small issue, really.  It's just that a good bomb run should mean (in my mind) a factory/base/whatever is flat, and but now one over-zealous bomber can ruin the trip for the rest of the flight.
