Geting the enemy of tail..
« on: August 23, 2003, 09:32:17 PM »
Okay..
I been playing off and on for over a year.
I got most of the basics down pat.
I don't use manuvers like scirrors.

How do you get a nme plane off your tail.
When im flying a fast plane against a turner i always try to outrun them.. That ends up to be about as close to ground as possible..

But in other situations i rarely seem to pull an enemy off my tail.

A few times i stalled my engine way out and the other guy had more E.. It missed me and flew right by me.. Then i turned up motors hit wep and fired on himm..

But what are some good manuever to pull an enemy off tail..

try not to let them get there in the first place.

learn to scissors, using throttle to see if you can get them to overshoot.

if they're more than 1.2k back, do a reversal using a yo-yo, high or low depending.

if you're in a fast plane that rolls well, try using roll displacement.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.

Like Shane has mentioned, learn how to use the scissors maneuver to achieve a reversal.

scissor technique that works well for me ...

chop throttle

get plane on tail out of phase (ie he is rolling left while u r rolling right)

don't maintain a constant altitude flat scissor.  pass lo in front of his nose, then pull up, roll and cut back down (chandelle) into him.  Repeat in the other direction.

pray.

If he doesn't play and goes into a hi yo-yo.. power on, dive out and get ready for his next pass.
