Pulverizer! Tonight's Snapshot
« on: September 24, 2003, 03:51:40 PM »
D-day June 6, 1944

American, British and Canadian troops are heading to their jump off points on the beaches of Normandy but they are going to come up against German strong points (coastal guns) designed to hold up the Allies long enough for reinforcements to arrive, including several Panzer Divisions. It is up to the Typhoon pilots of the 2nd Tactical Airforce to blast these strong points out of the way, otherwise the troops will never get off of the killing fields that are the beaches of Normandy.

610 Squadron RAF in Spitfire XIVs and 416 Squadron RCAF in Spitfire IXs are tasked with providing high cover, while 440 Squadron RCAF in bomb-carrying Typhoons (Bomphoons) are providing AA suppression and bombing the strong-points. The Germans, while confused over what is happening on the beaches have put up several squadrons of FW-190 fighters from Stab/JG26 in FW-190A5s and III/JG2 in their new FW-190A8s

The fun starts at 2200 tonight in the SEA - for further details see http://www.gremlinsden.com/events/snapshot.asp?snapshot_id=80   All welcome!  :)
