Computer crashes when flying bombers
« on: September 24, 2003, 02:13:53 PM »
For some reason I get "lost connection to host" messages and get booted when I fly Bombers.
I've had this problem since I started and have since bought a new computer. It has helped applying Skuzzys reccomendations on CPU utilization but it still happens frequently.
I exit all programs so nothing is running in the background and exit my firewall and anti-virus programs. I have dsl and have went into the modem and put it into the DMZ to eliminate that firewall but still only have this problem flying bombers....any  suggestions?
Thanx,
Koda

No I don't...your post on the CPU utilization helped but I noticed once I get booted it happens more and more....and when I go from the hanger to the runway it will boot me as soon as the engines fire.If I reboot It helps for a while. I can fly planes all day long. My old system was the same way only worse and I had an old 400mhz gateway with 192 meg. The new system is a dell with 2.4mhz and 256 ram. I had norton utilities on the old one and would run it and it would find lost chains and the like, I would save those to files and I could fly a bomber from 10 min to 2 hours before it would start all over again. With this new one I don't have Norton utilities on it so I don't know whats happening.
It is weird I do know that. Also when it's acting up just by changing views will boot me, but it's also just happened flyin in auto pilot.

Hmm...

What graphics card do you have?

A buddy of mine bought a dell machine with the radeon 9800pro card on it, but the boys at dell forgot to connect the extra powercord thingy that the 9800 needs to get enough power.

Long shot but check it.
