true...but how is that different than what happens in the ww2 games...only there arnt any trench's in the ww2 games...

How is it different? WW2 was a war of mobilization, fought with weapons that allowed swift movement, WW1 was fought with rifles and heavy .30 cal stationary MG's. In WW2 games you have the objective to capture something (IE documents in CoD or blow something up). The only objective you could have in a WW1 game is: Decimate the enemy waves. You can't tell me that snipers are like the riflemen in trench warfare.

Last night was by far the best time I've had in RO. I pop into a server and a few minutes later I see Saurdaukar drop in followed by Makarov. An hour later Blckmgc pops in. Saur was ripping a new hole in everyone (literally) with his Stg44. He's an incredible shot. My fascination with the G43 is somewhat dulled... it seems the bullet drop is very high... or it's bugged =] Long range shots *sometimes* work and sometimes they dont (and I know I'm dead on when testing it). Only happened in the Berlin map so far.

We changed our names to [AH]octavius, [AH]Saurdaukar, etc... but the Fighting Johnsons always had a nice ring to it.

Saur left shortly afterwards (he really is a butcher with the STG44), but I did get to snipe Blk a bit on Stanislalovlolalislalovo.

The G43 works wonders for me on Berlin. Haven't noticed much bullet drop at all, though it does seem to be a little weak. That's mitigated by RoF, though.

dont forget the artillery baragges(sp)

as for not having to capture anything...well what about vimmy ridge??? and what happened on the eastern front (except russia getting its bellybutton horribly whooped)

anyway who knows maybe they could make it fun...it could be like bf1942 in 1916 with slower more tactical gameplay (planes spotting artillery [though the canadians managed to take out enemy artillery with 90% accuracy...without planes) and bombing...artillery barrages...tunneling...all in a mmog consistent 24/7 world...) of course if all else fails they can make a "war of independance" fps...because standing in a line at 20 feet firing at the enemy is ever so much funner...
