Another option is Sygate. http://smb.sygate.com/
Another free prog that is almost as secure as ZA without any of the hassles with AH.  I run it with XP while playing all the  online games I have ever tried with no conflicts.  I use a router/firewall but like ZA, Sygate also checks outbound traffic and doesn't use many resorces.

Anyone get any further response from ZA yet?  Is there a patch in the works??

I can also confirm that ZA version 40.146.029 works fine.

They're aware of the problem(s).  (Gaming access isn't the only glitch with the latest build -- it also tends to forget your settings on reboot ... )

Word on their support board is that they are working on it, and there will be a fix out "in a while."

In the meantime they recommend either playing in a window (instead of full screen) or going back to a previous build of ZA.  I did the latter and all is well.

ZoneAlarm is a piece of dried amphibian dung.

The latest versions don't run with F-Secure Anti Virus either.  It's been documented for months and they haven;t done a damn thing about it.  (they probably figure anti-virus software is competition, now that they have "e-mail protection".  I'm going back to just using the XP firewall and F-Secure.  XP's firewwall scored perfectly on my tests at broadbandreports.com.

I want my $40 bucks back, but it's impossible to get through to them, since they don't have a phone number and don't answer e-mails.

Scumbag company.

Hi all!

Osage said I'm going back to just using the XP firewall .

Osage I wouldn't rely solely on XP's "firewall".

It blocks only traffic outside --> in. I other words, if you get a Trojan Horse in your system, and it tries or achieves communication from inside to who knows where, XP will NOT alert you NOR prevent it from communicating with parent site.

You'll have plenty of enemies on your 6 and no 6 call!

Take care!

The new update from Zone Labs (4.5.538), released today, has fixed this problem.  I just successfully upgraded ZAP and logged in to AH with no lockup at all.  Even the stored permission for AH worked so I didn't have to delete it and re-add!
