History of Flak Panzer Oil?

The alcohol thread got me thinking about the FPO we enjoyed, at least I think we did, at the minicon. I noticed this wonderful concoction has been around the flightsim community for a long time in many nations. Who invented it and whats the story behind this drink?

I had my first experience with FlakPanzer Oil just this summer when I went to visit James 'Daddog' Glazier, the CO of our squad.  A good friend and former online partner Harri 'Harppa' Neimi was visiting James.  Harri, who is Finnish, brought in a special batch of FlakPanzer Oil.  I must say that it was quite interesting.

James would sip on it all night.  He said he was savoring it but I think he was just trying to keep it down.

The first time I saw it was at the first WarBirds Convention in '95.  It was made by a Finnish flyer named Zombie.  Made with some hard licorice candy that's dissolved in (i think) a 50/50 mix of everclear and water.  It seemed a lot tamer this year than I remember it...it's always been some nasty stuff even if you're already drunk!

The original I think is called "Northsea oil" and is made in denmark.
