Curval: Two reasons for C-Section:...

I actually was wondering why whould you schedule a C-section?
There may be good very reasons to have a C-section - like yours, though in about 9 out of 10 times it is currently performed it is not medically necesarry.

There is only a couple of good medical reasons to induce/schedule birth - be it a normal delivery or a C-section. That's when the baby or a mother is experiencing a distress and/or is overdue by over two weeks. Obviously, you cannnot know so far in advance if your baby will be experiencing distress.

From my experience, the most common reason to schedule birth is so that a primary doctor would make his money without a risk to his golf schedule.

Yours may differ, and you do not sound like a person who would do such a serious thing without consideration, so that's why I was curious.

I've always liked the name Nadine (hope).
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

^ A lot of cool names, foreign-sounding names - even russian-derived names - are considered "ethnic black" in USA.
So a white person is not advised to select such name for his child. It creates wrong impression of cultural belonging and may often hurt the career.

There is a girl at work named Jerico (I think that is how it is spelled)... I thought that was kind of a cool name.

Caroline is a good girls name too.

Well, I may be a dad before the actual sceduled "event".

Just got a call from the wife who was in for an ultra-sound.  As the technician was doing her work she noticed a contraction and asked the wife whether she was sure she wasn't in labour.

She has been feeling some occassional contractions since...but her water hasn't broken or anything.

I have a daughter named Trinity but it wasn't after the Matrix she's named after my sister who passed away in the 70's. Wonder if I can sue the Matrix studios for name infringement?

I have to agree with this one. My oldest son is named after me but we call him by his middle name of Parrish...There are to many Will's and William's in this area. Our newest little boy who will be 1 year on May 29th is named Sims Hudson which is the last name of my wife's grandmothers. We call him Sims. Our next child will be named Tucker Layne...In honor of my great grandfather Tucker and my uncle Layne who is in the final stages of full blown AIDS and likely will not see another year.

Knock yourself out...or if you're a Kipling fan, a man who wrote about soldiers...

WHEN I left Rome for Lalage’s sake
By the Legions’ Road to Rimini,
She vowed her heart was mine to take
With me and my shield to Rimini—
(Till the Eagles flew from Rimini—)
And I’ve tramped Britain, and I’ve tramped Gaul,
And the Pontic shore where the snow-flakes fall
As white as the neck of Lalage—
(As cold as the heart of Lalage!)
And I’ve lost Britain, and I’ve lost Gaul,
And I’ve lost Rome and, worst of all,
I’ve lost Lalage!
When you go by the Via Aurelia,
As thousands have travelled before,
Remember the Luck of the Soldier
Who never saw Rome any more!
Oh dear was the sweetheart that kissed him
And dear was the mother that bore,
But his shield was picked up in the heather
And he never saw Rome any more!

And he left Rome for Lalage’s sake,
By the Legions’ Road to Rimini,
She vowed her heart was mine to take
With me and my shield to Rimini—
(Till the Eagles flew from Rimini—)
And I’ve tramped Britain, and I’ve tramped Gaul,
And the Pontic shore where the snow-flakes fall
As white as the neck of Lalage—
(As cold as the heart of Lalage!)
And I’ve lost Britain, and I’ve lost Gaul,
And I’ve lost Rome and, worst of all,
I’ve lost Lalage!

When you go by the Via Aurelia
That runs from the City to Gaul,
Remember the Luck of the Soldier
Who rose to be master of all!
He carried the sword and the buckler,
He mounted his guard on the Wall,
Till the Legions elected him Cæsar,
And he rose to be master of all!

And he left Rome for Lalage’s sake,
By the Legions’ Road to Rimini,
She vowed her heart was mine to take
With me and my shield to Rimini—
(Till the Eagles flew from Rimini—)
And I’ve tramped Britain, and I’ve tramped Gaul,
And the Pontic shore where the snow-flakes fall
As white as the neck of Lalage—
(As cold as the heart of Lalage!)
And I’ve lost Britain, and I’ve lost Gaul,
And I’ve lost Rome and, worst of all,
I’ve lost Lalage!

It’s twenty-five marches to Narbo,
It’s forty-five more up the Rhone,
And the end may be death in the heather
Or life on an Emperor’s throne.
But whether the Eagles obey us,
Or we go to the Ravens—alone,
I’d sooner be Lalage’s lover
Than sit on an Emperor’s throne!

We’ve all left Rome for Lalage’s sake,
By the Legions’ Road to Rimini,
She vowed her heart was mine to take
With me and my shield to Rimini—
(Till the Eagles flew from Rimini—)
And I’ve tramped Britain, and I’ve tramped Gaul,
And the Pontic shore where the snow-flakes fall
As white as the neck of Lalage—
(As cold as the heart of Lalage!)
And I’ve lost Britain, and I’ve lost Gaul,
And I’ve lost Rome and, worst of all,
I’ve lost Lalage!

This is exactly why I feel naming children after relatives is so important, at least to me.  Your next child may never know Uncle Lane, but he or she will will want to know more about him.  The memory of someone wonderful becomes preserved through generations.
