1st if you look and listen you will see that the 1st course of action is to get ping plotter and check your connection and trace route .
you need to find out were the cause of the disco's is ... and isolate it .. (is it your isp the first hop ? or is it one along the way ?)
If its your isp then "YOU " need to take this up with them ...they may have you routed wrong or bad hardware .(or as you say there cutting you off during these tests)
You as the consumer are paying for a service ... and once You figure out were the problem is then you can take apropreate action ...
Its not up to us here on this bbs to help you with your isp ....
But if you show a grown up attitude we can refer you to some options for the correct course of action. Even Skuzzy will call up isp's and inform them of problems ...
