How does it suck Air from the monitor?.. 61c was my max whilst playing Ah on 2.02ghz. and it idles around 56-57c. at 1.83 it idles around 53-54, im getting a decent varation between two temp monitor programs. Last night i took the side off and used a desk fan to see what it could do. i only got a a little drop in temp.

(Whats the Gigabyte GA-7N400-L/L1 NFORCE2 ULTRA400 ATX FSB400 mobo like? had any experience with it?)

by placing the stack right next to the monitor crt type  ..

your temp reading may be off alittle but not ussually that much ..

if you get stuttering or lock ups then your temp can be an issue

and perhaps you live in a warmer inviroment .. my house is at 68-70F  ( 21c)   even during the summer when it was 90F in the house i never saw more then 58c  on my pent 3  cpu and my amds were running 50-54c max while gamming

Ok the tower is underneath my desk though not near monitor. I havent had any stuttering or lock-ups even at 2.01. It was a pretty hot day yesterday ill see how i go today. Im looking at the Nforce chip sets with the 2500+ and an after market cpu fan and heatsink, its a cooler master jet 7 cooper cooler plus i have 2 case fans. this set up should this oc without temp issues?

Did you use any thermal grease such as Atric Silver?  If you did you might want to reapply it.  The first time I used it my temps didnt go down at all.  Come to find out I had applied to much.  It really only takes about a this much 0.  With the 0 being the approx size that I put on the chip, I used an old matchbook cover to spread it out evenly on the core.  Doing it this way dropped my temps 10 degrees.  I have an XP1700 overclocked to 2.2ghz and temps never get above 52C under load

Im not shure about the jet 7 ...  but ive never had any luck keeping a cpu cool with a coolermaster after I got past 1.0 ghz
ive switched to the fine finned thermaltakes with copper .

and I use the 0 amount of artic silver on all of mine i just squish the heatsink on and wiggle it alittle and it allways covers the core perfect without any excess ...

another thing is if your case draws in air from the lower/bottem front and its sitting on carpet ... that may impead good air flow

I have artic silver on the way, but the pc is fine at a lil over stock and since it aint mine ill leave it as it is, comfertable. As far as my own system goes im opting for a diffrent case Anodized ALUMINIUM with 2xfans on it, and i was thinking about the jet master 7 the THERMALTAKE Aqua Rius II Liquid Cooler sounds interesting too but i dont no much on liquid cooling. Ill use Nforce chip set and pc 3200(400mhz) ramm. i also found a good priced 9600pro ill grab

DONT go with a jet master 7
Look for a thermalright SLK 700 , 800 , 900 , or 947  with a good High CFM fam and controler for the best in CPU heat control on air.

Somthing like this.....

These are the best heat sinks on the market
