I get home from work today and I am the only person in my apartment building. I sit down at the computer and start working away on some skool stuff and i can hear a radio station playing.
Barely audible but still loud enough that i can tell what song is playing.
Stereo is off, even the speakers are off on the computer.
Anyway, get closer to 5 o clock and the apt building starts to fill up. Too much background noise to hear the radio anymore.
I get up for a drink of water at about 3 am and decide to try it out again. Boot up the computer and the instant the monitor turns on, the sound starts again.
I cant really pinpoint where the sound is coming from, but im sure it is not the speakers (which are beside the monitor)
Best sound i can get is by tilting the lamp next to the monitor and speakers to allow the shade to act as a sort of bell. Still barely audible but you can make it out.
Weirdest part is...it keeps playing the same 4 or 5 songs, but it is definately a radio station because they talk in between the songs.
Worst part is...the g/f hsa bad ears and cant hear it at all.
At first i thought i was just overtired or something but after some sleep and the apt building quieted down i was able to replicate it.
So what gives? Can CRT monitors give off some sort of radiation that can pick up radio signals? and if so how is it making it audible?
This is by far the strangest thing i have ever experienced.
Anyone know about radio or monitors and why this would happen?!?!?!
Oh yeah, i have a daytek 953DF that i got just over two weeks ago and havent really used it much unitl recently. Never experienced this with the old monitor.
