Looking for a new Joystick
« on: December 17, 2003, 03:03:14 PM »
Yep im looking at getting a new joystick, but dont know where to start, i currently have a Microsoft Precsion Pro 2 and do like it but would like something a bit better  I tryed a mates Cougar a while back and did not like it, it was to big and stiff for me but i can see the functionality of it with the buttons.
I have seen the saitek x45 and seems to be a good in between, with the buttons but not to big and klunky. Is there any others out there that would be good to look at or a good joystick around?
Thanks

i must say i am pleased with my saitek setup, but only with ch pro pedals. The saitek rudder is reassigned as flap controls due to the fact that the saitek rudder didn't work for me. Other wise, great functionality, accuracy, and NO nose bounce.

saitek Cyborg Gold is a nice stick...it is very accurate and smooth compared to the MS Pro you have (i used to have the same).

the only downside is the top hat will eventually wear out. (it will work, just not very well).

i just really like how i could tell exaclty how much i was moving the a'rons and rudd's etc. with that stick.

Squadvid, I'm currently running a Saitek X45 and like it a lot. It's easy to set up and program and it runs real smooth. However...The switches are weak, my squaddies warned me prior to purchasing it so I scored the Circuit City "extra warranty" and sure enough 31 days after I bought it the spring in the trigger switch failed even though I had been going "easy" on it. I highly recommend the X45 but get the extra warranty if you can. Heh! I'm sure CC's gonna rue the day they signed one with me!:lol
