So far, no response from the spacecraft.

It looks as if perhaps the Martian Space Defense system is still working.  30+ probes launched at it, 3 succesful landings.

dang Martians !

I was hoping this one would work out well.  They have some pretty neat experiments that could have produced some excellent data.  I read that all is not lost they still have a chance and that NASA is also trying to pick up its signal.

hope is not lost.   When the Express reaches it's polar orbit, IIRC it can also bouces signals to Beagle...

This again proves my theory that there are Martians, they are hostile, and in the 30s they really tried to invade Earth but were pusned back at great cost, and J Edgar Hoover covered it all up.

J Edgar WAS a martian - which explained the fascination for...er..."dressing up" shall we say.

I wonder if we could just license the martian defense system to use as our own ballistic missile shield.  It might be cheaper then designing our own.  Theirs seems more effective then ours.
