Quite different when you consider the Syrian (for example)treatment of Palestinians in the "not so distant" past.

That's quite a few people for a small nation such as Israel to absorb.  I'm wondering if this isn't the seed of future border disputes for land.

20% of the Israeli population are arabs and the percentage is rising decade after decade.
At one point in the future Israel will be Arabic country :)

Back when the seige of Sarajevo was going on I remember thinking "If those were Jews in that city the Israelis would have gone in and either helped to get them out...or they would have sent massive numbers of troops and weapons to help the besiged."

jews are originaly a semetic people as are all arabs. the semetic jews from the area of palistice are much closer related to the palistinians than most other countrys jews by genetics.

hebrew and arabic are closely related languages because they have the same root.

jews dont love threir own they love other jews.

i.e. its a religious thing.

Kind of a dumb thought but....

I allways feel uncomfortable saying the word JEW.  To me it almost seems like a slurr even though I'm pretty sure its not.

I know it sounds dumb but not being jewish it sounds like somthing only one jewish person can say to the other in today's libral pc society.  

anyhow to stay on subject I think its great that they welcome their own so freely.  I totally support there struggle against the palestinians and beleive every nation has the right to protect itself.  Havnt heard of too many suicide bombings since the wall went up

It seems that most of the fanatic Israelis believe in a buffer zone that occupies all of the West Bank and Gaza Strip devoid of Palestinians. Can we say "Greater Israel?"

Yeah..Greater Israel sure is a good description of an Israel absorbing the west bank...I mean all of that land...what is it... 200 km2?

Nobody wants the gaza strip.

same can be said about my back yard. no one ever plans on building there. but i own it and it dosent belong to them. gods will and other invisible friends notwithstanding.

as said befor israel without a huge wall ( being built?) will be a arab state in a few generations.

the isrealis know this. for instance chinese contract workers are forbiden from contact with isrealis on pain of being sent home at their own expence... sweet people. but really its thier religion that causes the weirdness they are chosen by thier invisible friend (who dosent like metalic cattle)and we get to finance and defend them.

lol Buffer zone? Containing new buildings for Jewish settlers - that's an interesting Buffer Zone.

Since Sharon came to power the number of new settlements has increased (illegal and legal) at an unprecedented rate.
