The invisible plane.... Or been killed by the tracers that come from no where?
Anyone know what causes it? Blocked ports on a router? Lag?
sure is party killer....
Maybe my computer is frying... If I pour coffee on it by accident than I have an excuse to buy a new one!!

Have you tried filming and then checking on film?  Surprising what a film can reveal.....   :)

Still kinda new to AH.

About 10months.  I know in other online sims I've played there was a 32 or 64 limit.

In other words do to lag (and other things) only 32 or 64 planes could be seen in your field of view at one time.

If the game you were playing had a 64 limit and you were in a huge furball with 80+ people flying around you 16 of them would be invisible.

In one sim they worked it so the planes farthest away from you were the invisible ones.

In another sim the bad guys would always be visible but the friendlies around you would appear disappear as the total number moved up and down the 64 limit.

Both these sims were very popular one is still alive.

So, does AH have any kind of visual limit?
Only reason I ask is at times in some really big Furballs I have noticed planes at a distance of about 3.5-4.0 sometimes will disappear. Not very often just a few times.

Just asking, as I thought with newer machines this kind of restriction was not needed anymore.

It might be lag on my part, but I run a 26 ping and a FPS of 115-120

Yep, agree with Flossy here.

Film lots folks, and when you review your films you will likely see where the shots came from.

I have never been killed by a phantom plane, and am about 100% sure they don't exist. Generally if you don't see your killer it is poor SA on your part. (happens to me all the time).

Film On!

The Film Viewer is great for this, because it shows the ID of everyone in the area, and what they are in.   Once you discover exactly where the shots came from, you can even jump into their plane and see it from the other pilot's perspective...... can be quite an eye-opener.  ;)

Been a while since I used it, but as far as I remember you just need to click on the relevant name in the list on the right hand side.  :)
