Lone ships/other fleets

I'm trying to make a simple, small map focused on CV battles for an H2h-style room. How exactly do I set up lone carriers, cruisers, and destroyer fleets?

(This is my first real map attempt)

add a task group and make it be 1, delete all ships but say a cruiser. Then add another task group and call it field 2, again delete all unwanted ships.
