I have photoshop 7..I cannot find the option to save my skins as an 8-bit bitmap. The lowest it will allow me to save is as 16-bit. when I do this my skin won't show up on the plane (although AH2 doen't crash) The plane just looks pitch black. How do I go about makinmg it 8-bit?

Image menu ---> Mode ---> Indexed Color.
Indexed color is another name for 8-bit.
Make sure you use the "Local (Adaptive)" method. If it defaults to "Exact", force it to Adaptive. Also, use the Diffusion Dithering option.

When I try saving a bitmap in PS 6.01 with these settings, the 127,127,127 color is not transparent.
Is that the correct color for transparency, or are there some additional settings needed?
