Great picture Superfly! I have a similar picture of my parents in Oklahoma City during the war. My dad was in his "pinks and greens" and there is another couple sitting at the table with them and the guy is wearing a 20th Air Force uniform. Gotta love those WWII photos.

Excellent pic Superfly!

My mom was also a 'Rosie the Riveter' during WWII. She helped to build P-38's in L.A. during the war. That is where my mom and dad met. :)

Are you trying to find out who the fellow is?

and what started as a nice post by a game creator on a topic that is related to WWII which is what the game we play is about...

degrades to this

<> Superfly. glad to hear about your grandmother helping the war effort. (not that probably wasn't a wonderful person without)

is she still alive? if so how is she doing? also if she is... soak up all the history you can. these wonderful patriots are leaving us too quickly. so many memories are being lost.
I don't know what to put here yet.

LOL SUPERFLY,

Granny goes out on the town, in NYC - 1943, with a sailor...  and bring two books?  If anything is intriguing about this picture its why did she bring the books?  Was she that studious?  Or were the books an excuse to blow off a potentially boring blind date?  (Sorry, I only have a half an hour, I have to study for a chemistry exam tomorrow.)

My dad sailed on Liberty Ships during the war.  I just got a copy of his DD-214 in the mail a few weeks ago.  Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean-Middle East War Zone campaign ribbons.  Considering the casualty rates the Merchant Marine suffered during the WWII, especially the guys sailing out of New York harbor, I gotta figure I'm pretty damn lucky to be here!

Cool picture Superfly!  My grandmother wasn't a 'Rosie the Riveter' girl, but she worked for the government during the war.  When I was a little girl she told me her job was taking the engineer's instructions on how to use and service the first radars and translating them into laymen's terms for the guys out in the field to use.  We still have her 'top secret' notebooks somewhere.  She was one smart lady, too bad she has alzheimers now.
