i think it would be cool to see a racing arena in AH2, or even an event for racing or something. a map with a racing course on it.

what ya think?

Look around in the H2H rooms. Used to be a couple of different small maps designed for that.

Yes, let's all race in identical planes with set acceleration/top speed values!

sounds boring but its not

trick is in the hth racing maps you have to fly THROUGH hangers...add some sharp turns and steep hills...rather fun on occasion...

There is a similar event in Auto Racing...

There is a similar event in Auto Racing called IROC. Internation Race of Champions or some such.

They get 12 Drivers in identical blueprinted cars from several different racing styles, nascar, Cart, IMSA, BTCC, Rally, Dirttrack Etc and pit them one against the other.

The concept here is to test your racing prowess, efficiency and agression / Strategy while removing the vehicle from the equation.

Turns Hangers, and such would be a serious test of pilot skill to win. there was this exact thing in a game called "Chuck Yeagers Advanced Flight Trainer". And I spent entire DAYS racing against my recorded "ghost".  I think the idea of an Arena with standings would be an absolute blast.  Hrm... Perhaps someone would like to establish a dedicated H2H session with race maps and publish the results?

2 problems

1. only 8 people in a room...
2. we dont have a good map to do it on...the one we have been using is over 2 years old and definatly showing its age

racing through hangers and such sounds very fun and exciting. a person could get really creative with great maps with lots of obsticles to fly around/through.

i would be all for planes of different strokes or, same type planes but with boosted WEP. with all even planes and a better power boosting ability, it becomes a real race between pilots with all the power managing and such.

i think this could happen........just need to get nuff support. i would be willing to volunteer to create or help create maps for this arena.

iv allways liked the idea of this but iv  allways wanted a choice of planes

this would be the planes

LA7
TEMPEST
F4U4
P51D
190D-9
109G-10

sounds good all the above planes run almost the same numbers P51D seems like the lowest while the tempest is the highest but not by much

and if you wanted to have a nonperk choice of planes you can allways use this setup
P51D
LA7
109G-10
190D-9
typhoon
