"You're easy to offend ain't you?"

Which is ironic seeing how easy he is at being offensive.

Love the new features!  AH-II is looking better each release and I can't wait to see all of it add up and the TOD come out.

It's just the difference in how we view things.

I don't think anybody really enjoys and likes to see blood.

Think about boxing or fight tournaments - the blood, sweat, bruises and etc. may look cruel, and is cruel in a way.. but it's also a testament to how vigorously the two contestants clashed, giving all they've got to win the fight. Only a psycho would love to watch such things for the sake of blood itself.

I think people feel more or less the same way concerning air combat - sure, there may be people who like bloodied cockpits and stuff just because it stimulates their sadism, but frankly, I think most people like that sort of detail portrayed(of course, to a certain extent only) in regards to immersiveness.

Just today, in a short offline testing, I attacked the enemy base, received some bad hits, and RTBd. I went to the externals, and saw how badly my plane was damaged - holes everywhere, blood on the windows.. but it also made me feel good and immersive, a sort of a relief, that despite all the dangers and damages, I've made it back home alive. It urges for role playing tards like me to really feel for my virtual pilot.

 ...

But of course, since not everybody shares this view, a "gore" box under the preferences section as an option would be reasonable. I don't think having no gore would provide that much of an advantage to be viewed as 'unfair'.

an interesting thought just came to mind...

what's odd is...... when we see the blood, I think, " I'm hit! "
but when you see the blood, you think of..... well as you stated above, people saying G.D., J.C. F.B...... cockpit fires, screaming bloody murder, death and carnage...

now who's got the twisted mind?"

:aok

"now who's got the twisted mind?"

A guy who has no problem whatsoever supporting real people getting blown to pieces patrolling dusty alleys overseas but he squirms at some minor gfx effect in a game played in the safety of one homes.

Could this mean the first step toward a fully-realistic mangling of helpless pilots in their chutes?  I wanna see hamburger hanging from that silk by the time I'm finished with 'em!
