I think the blood adds a very realistic element to the game and the sense of pain/struggle in the WWII air war.

So red pixels offend you...  this may get you a nomination for DoctorYo's "Simian of the Year Award..."

You are playing a World war 2 sim ..  Note the word war...  In war people shed blood..  Im not talking gushing heads imploding entrails etc.. this blood smear is very subtle and downright cool..

cnn has more gore than this..

go play super mario brothers if you dont want blood in a war simulation...

If you were that offended then you could have just wrote HTC a letter.  Instead of this bozobait...

Keep the blood..

Put in a switch for the offended

2 cents..

Maybe its just about what part of the war you want to glorify. The personal loss toll, or the skill of the people who flew in it. We leave out political symbols as no one wishes to glorify that. Having blood spray on the screen takes it to a personal loss level IMO. Doomish - very Doomish. But as long as you can turn it off...

Nicely stated there at the end DoctorYo.

The only reason I say have a switch is for the parents who have small kids who like to play the game as my 7 year old does. He has been a part of AH for nearly as long as I have and I want him to continue having a chance to play this game. So a selectable option is the preferable way for me.

Although when I play it will be on in full just because of the "immersion" factor.

As well it should. This is a combat simulation. And in Combat ugly things happen. ALOT
I have kids too I personally prefer not to shield them or protect them from seeing the ugly things in the world.
I dont see the point in it
I let them see it then talk to them about it.
My feeling is in that way when they actually have to live in this world they are better prepared to deal with it.
My son now 15 first started in AW. He flies here under my Handle during the day.
Pretty level headed kid by all accounts and he doesn't see war as just a game. And he isnt desensitized by it.
And while he understands the occasional necessity of it. He also fully knows how ugly and costly and terrible war can be.
My daughter, now 7 is and has been receiving the same education on the subject. so far her reaction has been exactly the same.

there are those I know that do not feel like I do.
And for them yea, they should have their "off" button.

Pretty sure we just identified the bottom of the slippery slope.

Thanks Levi.
