Airfield bug - loose engine on runway
« on: March 23, 2004, 02:33:57 PM »
Was fooling around offline at Field A1.  While  taxiing a p-38 looking for a rearm pad to try out when boom one of the engines goes.  I was going nice and slow was right on runway etc.   Tried a few more P38's taxied around, lost 1 engine again on each.

Tried B17 without drones, lost engine 2 oil and got bent prop graphic every time - but I couldn't narrow down where it was happening, actually seems to happen at different locations at different times (I think I narrowed it down to NE/SW runway though).  Always the same inboard engine that would die.  (I tried with one B17 to get a second "hit" after engine 2 lost but wastn't able too)

Sorry not more information, but something funny occuring on the runway.

(Dont know if important or not - but I had killed the AA before landing the first P38)

234 also takes  ground strike on most every take off unless you use grasss instead.

262 took engine hit last night on landing

P51 (and some others)  takes a prop hit on some landings same way.
