Proximity kills and there freinds

I thought that in 107 proximity kills were supposed to be fixed?  i still get them (great for me   ) but i also notice other get them too, such as when i ditch cos of low fuel wihtout being pinged once only to award some lucky chap a kill.

also is this a bug or is this supposed to happen, after a dogfight and i come of worst   after landing safely and exiting to tower i still get told i was killed by *joe bloggs* and he gets his award.

I would have thought that ditching safely would not cause a kill award??   after all why ditch then?  just chute everytime.

is this a bug or not?

I believe this is a feature.

It depends WHERE you ditch AFAIK.  If you ditch in enemy territory, it's counted as a ditch in your score, but the other guy gets a kill.  If you ditch closer to one of your bases than an enemy base, I don't think anybody gets a kill.  For your score, a ditch is a ditch and a bail is a bail.  For the other guy, where you ditch is important, as if it's in enemy territory than that plane is counted as "lost" and he gets awarded a kill.  If you ditch in enemy territory without taking damage first, then whoever is closest enemy when you ditch would get the kill award.

There is a difference between ditching and being captured.  If you are closer to an enemy field than a friendly, you are captured and the nearest plane within x distance is awarded a proximity kill.. or anyone that has pinged you (done most damage).  If you are closer to a friendly field than an enemy field, you get a ditch and nobody is awarded anything.

The proximity kill bug fix was that proximity kills were not always be counted for the apropriate plane within the apropriate range.  It was broken.  Now it works as intended.  Nobody said anything about turning it off.
