Two more weeks of K9 handler school and I'll be back in the saddle.

I have a 65lb. high strung Black Lab that lives to find dope....

Here's a pic

So wha have I missed in the past few months?

Catch up....

1. Everyone either hates Bush or hates Kerry.
2. Either it's all the liberal's fault, or it's all the conservatives fault.
3. Guns are either great or bad... depending which ocean is on your left.
4. Everybody loves airplanes.

Welcome back sir.

Can a canine be taught to locate drugs and explosives or is it  just one or the other and what types of dope, all or specific types of narcotics.

In law enforcement canines are taught to track people, find dope or explosives, and bite.  A individual dog can be taught to do all, but it is my departments thought that you can overload the animal.

We train on the four basic groups... marijuana, meth, cocaine, and heroin.

IMO any person who doesn't like labs has a serious character flaw.

Very cool Concho.  Are you a dog person, or is this your first?

I always thought it'd be cool to be a K9 officer, but I've never owned a dog before.
