Running an NOE goon to capture a base and pop over a rise and be 500 out from a train and get ripped to shreds almost before you can pull evasives.

Worst, was in an NOE JABO raid to a field and came out of a valley when we got "bounced" by a train, damn thing wasted about 90% of the attackers. I was laughing like hell watching planes pulling out in every direction trying to get out of the way.

Now, if i'm low and come across a set of train tracks I reverse and go home.

Man I LOVE Trains. Like flying the tracks between strat targets looking for them. It is fun to set out of their range and pop the engine with a rocket. Once that happens the train comes to a halt. Pop the A/A cars with rockets till they are all down then move in and finish up with guns.

THE SECRET: Leave one car on the track. If you do another engine will come out to get it. Then you can just set and pop engines till you run out of ammo or rockets.

Also don't attack on the beam, do it head on, that way you have a better chance of hitting something with your shots, rockets or bombs.

I have never seen this happen... I popped the train about halfway back and after 2 minutes the remaining cars behind that one disappeared.

I had my bellybutton saved by a train once upon a time. Was up on a squad run - I got sucked down in my 38 and was dancing with a 109 - jinking all the way. It was the kind of fight that you could picture going downhill then a redneck stuffed inside of a goodyear. Long story short, while I was jinking around, little did I know that I had flown over my friendly little choo choo...and those quad 20's made spam out of my little krout friend

wanna have some real fun? fly a 262 on the deck, near train tracks.

when the usual conga-line of dweebs that think they can outrun you in their p51's, spitfires, hurricanes etc. forms, head for the rails!

fly up and down the train track and watch them die. great fun for all the family.

It seems to me that every time I am doing a low level Mossie raid on a city or factory the danged train shows up. Now, I've survived to limp home in a badly shot up aircraft about half the time, but the train saves the target every bloody time.

You might see railyards/depots on some of the older terrains, so far as I recall they either were never activated or arent now

I always try to board 'em at the nearest trainstation but they won't let me in...
