Has Anyone put together a Planes of AH website?
« on: March 29, 2000, 01:05:00 PM »
Was wondering if anyone had put together a page like  http://members.home.net/mefletcher/wbp.html  for Aces High yet?
I'd like some plane particulars, advantages, disadvantages, ya know plane specifics.

Try looking at "Current Aircraft" on the HTC main page.  They have a couple charts up now for most of the planes.  (It's still a work in progress.)

You're like me milenko, We are used to WB's where the game has been around a few years and has accumulated a lot of independent 'support' websites. I think these will all come in due time with this simm too...

I'm way behind in finishing up the plane write-ups.  I have a lot of incomplete ones but will strive to get them finished after the next release.  I'm still looking for people to write their plane guides for submission.

Pyro;
First, I think you guys are doing a great job, thanks.  Regarding your workload, have you thought about allowing some in the community to help you e.g. you've probably got notes on what you're planning, data, figures, speeds, etc. etc. as well as the templates for the pages where they'll go.  Maybe somebody can volunteer to fill the missing info from your notes and you could review prior to putting on site.  A thought?

P.S. Yes, I'm volunteering if you need some help.

Who would want to do that website?

You would need to update the thing every two or three weeks, because of all the new planes always being added.  Man, that sounds like alot of work.

Hans.

OK... its incomplete and will need a major update with the changes due in 1.02 BUT
 www.users.bigpond.com/afinlayson/index.htm

is the home page for Phoenix Squadron.  Go to the Aircraft page and you will see a partial write-up of the various AH fighters.

e.g.  Top speed, climb data, roll performance, acceleration etc.

I still haven't worked out how to accurately calculate turn rates and radii ... if anyone out there has the required formulae equating
turn rate, radius, G loading and airspeed, please drop me a line

As I said, take these figures with a grain of salt until after 1.02 debuts, when I will be doing a complete overhaul of the flight tests.  As you can imagine, its a major undertaking trying to evaluate each of the AH fighters, so its gonna take some time to complete.
