190E-4 ... will not stall on auto-angle
« on: May 10, 2004, 09:26:17 AM »
Icer and I took it for a ride yesterday and we were testing stall to see leading edge flaps come out, when Icer noticed that the plane would not stall when auto-angle was engaged.

Get it up to a decent cruising speed. Go into about a 30 degree climb and then set auto-angle.

Once the plane gets to about 80 mph, it will start to rock (ailerons working like crazy to keep level flight).

At this point, you will notice that the plane continues to climb, and at a very fast rate for 80 mph. If I remember correctly, we were seeing a 3K per minute climb rate.

This behaviour, if you opponent doesn't have more E than you, would be the ultimate "rope" maneuver.
