Zonealarm & AHII
« on: May 22, 2004, 11:53:11 AM »
Since patch 33, I am unable to run AHII with Zonealarm, even if all the options are set to open in ZA for AHII. The computer freezes when clicking the Online button.  Hard reboot required.

AHII/zone alarm

Hi there, I currently use Zone Alarm pro and don't have any problems logging onto AHII in any of the beta forms.

I have had problems with other programmes though where I assumed all access was granted but still wouldn't let me log on via that particular prog, that is until I manully added it to the permitted progs list in ZA

Is AHII listed in your permitted programmes list when you view it?

I'm not a techno buff so I can't really help that much so if it isn't that I'm all out of ideas.

Bring up zone alram open the programs window and right click on ahII then click on changes often. That should fix your problem for good.

I don't seem to have this changes often option. Am not using the Pro version btw, just the regular version.

Its there in the old version too. Its been a long time so I dont remember if you get there the same way but its there. Open zone alram and click on the programs tab. This should bring up your list of programs on zone alarm. Then right click on AHII program this should open another pulldown type window then it should say changes frequintly or how ever you spell it lol. Keep looking its there. I had both versions of zone alarm.

It depends of WHICH "old version" you have.

I had that option available in one of the free versions that's on
one of my four machines here but Version 3.7.211 does not
have the "changes frequently" check box....

seems I am in the same boat (plane?) as =GB=.    No changes often version in Zone Alarm.

Situation is the same for AH 2.34 also.  Clik on the online button and it freezes up.   cntl-alt-del no effect, not even the menu comes up.   alt-tab wont reduce the screen.   windows key has no result.   whacking and poking every key and mouse button has no result.  Only a hard boot has a result.

I tried that (used this ever since I started using ZA and AHI) but it didn't seem to work this time.
I managed to get it working by removing AHII from the program tabs and adding it manualy.

REmove AcesHigh2 from zone alarm, then readd the aceshigh.exe file again, and select green checks across the board.  Works well for me, and since beta 3o something, I have had to do this to allow it to work in zonealram.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.
