A draft is political suicide.

I was unaware that we were having a recruiting problem that necessitated a draft. Its not like we've had a tremendous amount of casualties (compared to previous conflicts of the same length.)
Anyone who has a hand in reinstating a draft will be come unelectable.

Sending kids off to a war they did not volunteer to fight, while half the population objects to the way it is run is never a good idea.

Originally posted by Gyro/T69 Yup, and the wars and the draft went on. Don't kid yourself, long term wars are never popular.
And the presidents that start them are voted out, and the drafts end. That is why i said it is political suicide.
