Author Topic: Patch 40 won't let me in... (Read 391 times)

I had deleted AHII and reinstalled Beta 39 from scratch. Worked fine. Then tonight, got the Patch 40 update. Now I get the password screen, click the button to log on and everything freezes. Can't even alt tab out.

P4 1.3 mhz
256 RAM (fresh boot)
ATI 9600 XT 128 MB
Winders Me (I know)

Now why didn't I think of that before I deleted AHII? Not going to download until tomorrow. if I do it now...1 hour, tomorrow morning at 6...5 minutes

If you're using zone alarm, do this:

After clicking log on and curser freezes, type the letter a

The a is keyboard command to "Allow" permission for the changed program. Since you can't drop AH2 to desktop, you can't see the pop-up from ZoneAlarm asking you for permission to allow access. The keyboard command is just doing the same function as if you were clicking the "Allow" button.

McAfee...still have to give it permission to let AHII in anytime there's a change. I'm convinced that's it. We'll find out tomorrow. Played AHI tonight..bummer, but the difference is a 45 min download or a 5 min download...a no brainer. Still ticked off that I deleted AHII before figuring it was the firewall.
