Pieces of Airbases & Coastlines appear/dissappear
« Reply #15 on: June 20, 2004, 07:34:21 AM »
Same here MOBILITY RADEON 9000 32Mb latest drivers/Dx9

It is defenatly not the ground object details.
It is bug.....

When I on final approach and can't see runway or when I fly over enemy base and AAA guns all time disappear and I can see only traces.....
it is bug

It must be fixed

EDIT: Looks like it is problem with cards that do not support Dx9 and were build of older.....

HTC fix it or return to Dx8

I have the same problem with fading
« Reply #16 on: June 20, 2004, 06:50:04 PM »
I also have an ATI 9200 and I notice the fading on runways more than anything. I don't think this is just an ATI problem though I have talked with several that run other cards and they experience the same thing.

I did try the Omega drivers but they would not run. I dont remember what the error message was now.

I'm running an nVidia FX5200 and have not seen what you are talking about, but I have seen trees on the edge of the forest appear and dissappear 3-4 feet in front of me in a GV.

Redrawing base graphics
« Reply #18 on: June 21, 2004, 03:38:43 AM »
As previously reported

My sons system has his base (field grass, runway, strat dirt etc) constantly "redrawing".

Ie the floor rendering divides its self into 3 or 4 parts and then wipes and redraws those parts constantly............

This occurs even when all sliders are to "performance"...........

Yet this does not occur on my lap top which (apart from CPU) is considerably more challenged..............

Seems strange that a vid card of 16MB should outperform one of 128MB so I am wondering if this effect is a bug related to the radeon card.

From all the roports it seems to happen only with Radeon Cards.

All who reported on similar - disapperring textures in these thread has RADEON cards................

HTC? Have you tested it with some Radeon Cards?

BTW the problem started after Dx9 start to be used........

As I remember there were no such problem for Dx8 version

Coastline and map probs
« Reply #20 on: June 21, 2004, 08:47:27 AM »
I have this same problem.I have only been experiencing it since Sunday, but can not rectify it using any of the stated remedies.

I never had this problem in any of the beta, that were tested,I have an nvidia card Ge force FX 200,which until yesterday worked perfectly.

I can't use the game in this state,so if their is a solution  I would be grateful for the advice.

Until this happened Aces High was the best flight sim on the net IMO. thx. :(

I have a Intel 2.4GHz CPU with 512DDR and a Radeon 9200 128mb DDR.
I'm also having the same problem. things appearing and disappearing..  coastlines, airfields etc.. its starting to get annoying.
I have just downloaded the latest drivers from ATI and those Omega Drivers.. yet to try them.. but i cant think of anything else to solve this problem.

Can we please get an official response from someone?  I'd love to know you were going to fix this, then I could just be patient and quiet.  I've done a couple of searches, and I can't find any post for any beta that shows HiTech knows about this bug.  Very frustrating to try to land and not be able to see the runways at all.

Catalyst Drivers fixed my Prob
« Reply #24 on: June 22, 2004, 02:50:02 AM »
After reading a post about the new catalyst driver fixing the disappearing base features I decided to give it a try.  The catalyst driver did correct the problem I was having with portions of the base fading in and out. :aok

coastline disappearing
« Reply #25 on: June 22, 2004, 05:16:50 AM »
Doh!My prob was simply that I had somehow managed to bring up ground vis,a feature that helps you hunt GV',wich cuts away the long view to give you a better ground view.

Simply pressing shift F1 solved my problem- shift F1 full vis- all the F,1, 2, 3, 4  keys alter the view if combined with shift...although I had to map F4 after I discovered what I had done,so how I got that view in the first place is a mystery.

Feel very stupid.Apoligies to HTC team.:)

I installed the latest drivers about two days ago with no change.
Hmm, who's not using XP?  I'm running ME, and drivers didn't help.  A couple of you said drivers did help and are using XP.  Anyone have a contradictory experience?  (ie. drivers work under ME, or drivers don't help under XP)
