Shave the cat??   And who says men aren't chivalrous these days?? Actually, that is quite a frightening thought.

I wouldn't dream of coming between a man and his cat.

Yankee.. LOL.. it's happened to the poor thing before. For Christmas one year my wife had purchased for me one of those cute little electric mustache and beard trimmers.

Your husband ever give you an 'Epilady' for Christmas?? (the guys out there will smile at this.. the electric trimmer was the kind that rips the hair out by the roots)

Anyway, after one trial; I never used it again and eventually my kid discovered it. One day I came home from work to discover a very bald, exceptionally mortified cat.. I was torn between anger and helpless laughter and when I started hollering at my 14 year old daughter she endured my half-hearted outrage with one of those smug grins of hers firmly in place. I think the cat must have noticed.. she avoided all of us for several weeks (blameless tho I was..)

Not long after the henious crime my kid discovered her favorite stuffed animal half buried in the litter box.

Life does offer some small rewards to the alert observer.

The cat currently has it's coat back.. and even now (2 years later) if it's getting to be a pain in the bellybutton or obstinate, all I gotta do is turn those clippers on....  :>

Martlet, BD ?

(This was taken from a post under Squadrons);

If you live in area code 719 (Colorado Springs) you will love flying with us. We regularly meet before missions (Thursday nights) and we often make 2 to 12 person conference calls using our second phone lines as an in flight radio (audio 6-calls can't be beat! Newbies are welcome, (they usually fly better than me in about 1 week). To find us just click on the roster button and look for any Buccaneer, then send us/him a message on chanel 1.
The Buccaneers are 18 strong, We are meeting at Denny's at 4799 North Acadamy on  Wednesday (1-26-00) at 5:00 (our phone coms start at 7:50 and that night's mission will start at 8:00).  We would love to meet you. Just look for a bunch of ugly guys in the back making airplane noises.

We have a lot of fun at these meetings and you will meet some interesting guys. Our CO owns and flies a few real WWII warbirds, our training officer is a retired fighter pilot (several others are also military or retired military), a few others are real pilots and have quite a bit of time in WWII planes (and 1 is even a helicopter pilot  ). A bunch of us also own authentic Army Air Corps uniforms and flight gear that we wear to airshows and sometimes Denny's.
You can E-mail me at;

dnjhall@earthlink.net

Also make sure to check out our website,

Your Aces High call sign?
  skeet

It's significance?
 I have no illusions about my (*current*, he said, grinding his teeth)
 role in AH :-) First came across it in Catch 22, and had to figure out

 just like the sound of it.

Do you have any other connection to aviation or WWII?

Father flew Spit's (mainly VII) in WWII in 124 Squadron. His initials are RAF - really, I kid you not.
He did lots of high cover and also low level bombing/strafing/rockets over northern Europe. If you search for skeet you'll find I made
a post on how to jarbo in a spit based on a phone chat with him. 'course he's almost 80 now and says: 'as far as I remember' :-)
He also trained people on the Hengist and Horsa gliders for Arnhem type raids.
His brother (I'm named after) got shot down piloting a bomber over Italy - Trieste I think.
I'm learning to fly a PA38 Tomahawk - just up to my mandatory 5 hrs of instruments as part of PPL.

Other interesting things about yourself.
 I love plays's on words and make up limericks when something newsworthy tickles my interest:
(Eg. you ask??)

*** Young and impressionable DO NOT READ ON. ***

Said Clinton it's true I've confessed
Lewinsky was more than a guest
And though she was silly
To play with my willy
She sucked but she didn't ingest.

BTW, thanks to all those AH fliers who have made me truly appreciate the subtle nuances of flavour of force-fed soil, glycol and oil.
