Non WW2 skins
« on: June 25, 2004, 08:54:24 AM »
At these point HTC does not accept non-WW2 skins.

There were lots of non-WW2 setups at CT and SEA like:
[list=1]
  • Korean War - CT
  • Socker War - CT
  • Second Wind -1946 - CT
  • Israel Independence War 1948 - CT
  • Kadesh Scenario - SEA
  • Numerous IAF snapshots of 1948-50 - SEA

Will there be some kind of special skin support for CT and SEA that will let usage of such skins?

Or AH-II will stop all non-standard comunity developed setups?

IMHO there are lots of players that enjoy such setups......

Who knows if the CT or SEA skins can be different, or set per setup.  If they can I don't see any reason why HTC would object.

For the MA and ToD arenas only WWII skins should be allowed I think.  Honestly, I think the Swiss Bf109 skin is pushing it.

The points are:
  • HTC said one skins set for all theaters - did we finished with Korea, Socker War, Independence War? If it is true and HTC does not accept other then WW2 skins it will be very problematic for CT and SEA and BTW not only for non-WW2 setups but mostly for WW2 setups - if we need to do some kind of subsituations like in kurlad usage of Ki instead of Tu-4 etc...... if HTC not going to accept such skins all CT and SEA gameplay in troble........
And BTW I can understand and I truly think it is correct the reqirement of WW2 skins for ToD that is historical gameplay but MA?....... :lol it is very historical - especially P-40 vs 262 or Spit 9 vs Mustang and La-7 over Pizza Map. Of coures skins shouldn't be anythink players want - and be historical but WW2 only???
  • If HTC will not give spepareate database for CT/SEA and will not allow usage of not WW2/subsituate skins it will put all non MA gameplay in troubles....

I agree with ramzey and karnak.

I dont understand the desire for non-ww2 stuff in a ww2 air combat game.

Isnt their already a few korean jet games? Arent their already many other non-ww2 air combat games?

I dont play those because I prefer ww2 aircraft.

I havn't told bring jets in AH (even I'd like to see them there)

But if you will read my post you will see that from this will suffer mostly CT and SEA WW2 gameplay when they will not be able to make subsituations and also there were not once non-ww2 setups at CT and SEA - but that still doesn't mean that AH non-ww2 game. If we can to use it in different way time to time its ok IMHO.......

And particularry I do not care of what happens in MA.......
But at this point it is impossible to fly at CT or SEA and HTC's skins definition will make gameplay at CT and SEA worster without proper skins........ becuase no subsituation will be allowed and CM teams will have less options to make interesting gameplay

And about that MA is WW2 gameplay :rofl :rofl :rofl really funny
