Patch 5
« on: July 02, 2004, 10:30:53 PM »
Not sure what you guys did, but much better play after patch 5.  6/30 and 7/1 the game was almost unplayable with very low frame rates and studders...even with AHIITest.  Patch 5 is working well for me at default video settings.  I'm breathing easier, doctor cancelled the cardiology tests.

P4, 1.3 mhz
256 mb RDram  (I know...don't rub it in)
ATI 9600 XT (128 mb)
SB Live
Windows Me  (yeah, that too)
CH Stick/Throttle/Pedals

Give me your appointment, patch5 trashed my gameplay to where now I'm posting instead of playing.

Gosh wonder if they could just isolate the video to card specific routines - got an ati card? load the ati patch! got a nvidia card? load the nvidia patch. Or hell, just take this and don't play :(

Patch 5 MUCH better for me... Frame rates still decent, no more CTD's or wierd memory creeping (after 5 hours straight play).

Much improved.

never really had a problem with memory leakage or
low frame rates just mini freezes which started in patch 3 and have continued into patch 5 at veriying degrees

Awesome job guys!

Gained 15 to 20 fps in tower, on runway.

Test version was 20 in tower
patch 4 was mid to high 30's.
Patch 5 is mid 50's and higher yet once airbourne.

flying low over smoking city with several planes in area & fps stayed high.

Silky smooth even with plane skins loading.

HTC this ones a keeper!

Using a Radeon 9500PPRO with Omega drivers on WinME.  Frame rates seems lower for me.
