why would they go and do a thing like that? I pay $15 bucks a month not to be able to fly the F4U in early 1943.

Maybe we should finally go and invest in that leather underwear we have been trying so hard to avoid.

My next setup on the 22nd will be using the Slot map if it gets updated in time for me to use it. There still isn't any definete answer on the ETA of the Terrain Editor other than the word...soon. Thats all I have and I don't know what Soulyss is planning on running this coming week.

If it was my setup I'd include the F4u :)

And you know what sucks about that bug?  Everybody and there drooling, shaking, little brother would fly allied, forcing us to go fly ki's just to have something to shoot at.  Its just no win for those who like the blue planes.

Nothing strange here  Its almost impossible to fight in Ki61 vs F4U-1 no matter how high you are or how many of Ki's around.
I dont like such setups :o

Basically IJAAF/IJN fighters are outclassed no matter what they fight against - be it a F4U or a F6F. The only 'fair' fight with fairly close matchups is 1941 setups with P-40, Wildcats and Zeros.

In any other instance, the only kill JP fighters would achieve, is when they actually catch a US plane low and slow.

In that case, since its basically the same no matter what planes are used, I wouldn't mind seeing Corsairs as main opponents.

not at all, ki is more than a match for the f4u, particularly with alt.  It will dive and turn in that dive with the f4u.  A6m is fine against the f4f and fm2, niki is a great match for everything the US has.  Calling there planes crap is not accurate, their pilots maybe.  ki84 (if they had good materials) and the niki2 were both top notch aircraft.  For that matter, I will take a zero vs p40 any day of the week.

We've run event setups where the Ki-61 had a 1/1 KD against the F4U-1, but the key was to give objectives and time limits that kept the Hogs from just climbing up and taking their time to make passes.

In a more free environment like the CT it's totally different of course, but when the Battle is settled over a Beachhead crawling with transports, and the Hogs have to come down and play... Those are some of the best dogfights around for my money.

Yup.  Only way that the corsairpig can beat the tony is to travel in groups and stick with either b&z, or pigpileons (or catch people like the oldman when their attention is diverted!).
