AH Film Viewer

OK guys, I'm getting pissed off with the Film Viewer software.
That has got to be the buggiest, most frustrating evil **** of a piece of software to ever run through a system. I am working on a film for my squad to celebrate three years, and it has been the most frustrating thing I have ever done. It either crashes, doesn't convert readable files, shows incorrect data on multiple runs, won't rewind to the beginning or end of the files without crashing, frequently locks up my system, continues to run after it closes. It shows Flames comming out of a vh that hasn't been hit yet, plays the voice files one time, then the next time it won't.
I edited for hours and hours and hours, and in the end, all i got was maybe 5 seconds of usable footage from hundreds of attempts and hundreds of usless unreadable .avi files. It's not that I don't know what I'm doing either, have been involved with production in various levels for a decade now, and have edited everything from 16mm film, to 3/4 to beta and digital video... Are you guys going to improve this feature or leave it in its current FUBAR staus?

yea, what Twitchy said.
when film viewer 1st came out for AH2 it worked fine. since new patches it started going whacky. now it doesn't want to play at all. start it up, load film, then error with program have to close, etc.       :(

Various film viewer anomalies seen as of Patch 6, including:

1)  Own-plane audio goes away right after engine starts.

2)  Graphics not all there.  Opponent's plane graphics only partially there (engine firewall is transparent, although instruments visible).  Terrain tiles only partly there (black squares visible).

2)  Viewer crashes after about 5 minutes into a 1.2 MB film.

This didn't happen previously in AH2 viewer (Patch 5?) if I recall.  Would be nice to have a working film viewer again...   :-)

no matter which Codec i try to save an ahfilm to..i cannot open it in WMP 10
Click "Save as AVI...select resolution then selecting the compression Codec results in an unreabable film. any ideas?

OK. I have figured out what i was doing wrong.
I would open an .ahf file.
Setting a "start select" and an "end select"
I would then "copy select." and save it as xxx.ahf
Next: i would open the newly created xxx.ahf file and try to "save as AVI"
I wont work no matter which way i try to save it. Compressed or Full frames.
maybe not a bug?
But it would be idiot proof if it could be done this way.
regards

I have been getting an error message that says ahfilm viewer has to shut down.
I only get it when viewing films with certain models of me109s. All the other films (and there are many) work just fine.  Go figure.

I cant film a landing.  Period

If I play a film of my P-38 landing, no problem

Try saving it to an AVI, the plane will never land.  It hovers over the field.
