Video resolution and Max Text Size
« on: July 31, 2004, 07:41:26 PM »
I finally have DSL and was wondering about a few things. Should I keep my Video res. at 1024 x 768 or change to 800 x 600? and will one or the other improve FPS? I also added 256MB of RAM. Should i change Max Text Size to something other than 256?

Appreciate any help you can give

Smaller is better but at the penalty of graphics quality.

I don't think it affects fps that much. Thats set by your monitor refesh rate. IIRC, the human eye likes 60hz+ refresh and 30+fps. Slower than that causes fatigue from the flicker.

You'll have to play with the settings a bit and find a happy medium that works for you.
