No mid-airs in AH2?
« on: August 05, 2004, 01:27:01 PM »
I had suspected for some time that there were no mid-airs in AH2. Last night I filmed proof! After going winchester on a trio of Lancs, who for some reason were ignoring me, I decided to ram the SOB.

After passing directly through the center of the lead lanc a number of times, I pulled back on the throttle and entered the formation, INSIDE THE LEAD LANC! I sat inside the lancs bomb bay  for maybe 30 seconds.

I'm at work now, but I will forward the video to anyone interested this evening.

Alot less of those "SOB Rammed me!!!" comments I use to hear all the time on range. Still hear them from time to time, just alot less of them now. Good or bad I dont know. The lag induced crashes were the worst and I no longer worry about those.

I know for sure that I have unintentionally rammed people and been damaged by it.  It's happened a couple times to me when I am too close to a con and he chops throttle to try to force an overshoot.

However, I do recall seeming to fly through bomber wings or tails on a couple slash attacks.  I think perhaps the fighter collision code is working, but the bomber code is not.

I no longer even worry about ramming a bomber, just fly right on thru them, every time.

Have heard several reports about 262s and rams. Could be they are on?

I am sure I have collided with neme aircraft.  But it is now very rare.  I think the collision bubble is quite small. :aok

Seems to me the issue is you CANT collide with a BOMBER, but you can with another fighter...

Fighter collisions?
« Reply #14 on: August 06, 2004, 11:40:23 AM »
I have rammed right through fighters with no collision. I haven't captured it on film yet though. There is a screen shot higher up of someone else with no fighter collisions.

Can someone post a film to show there ARE fighter collision?

Maybe only some of us have collisions?

Can we get some word from HTC on this?
