USN 1975-1979

Served aboard the USS Bigelow (DD 942) IC3 was about to promote to IC2 but separated 30 days early (Yipeeeeee)

I couldn't get out of Jimmy Carter's Navy fast enough.  Never ever ever vote for Dems.

Honorably Discharged 23 Sep 1981

The USS LABOON (DDG-58) sunk the "ex-Bigelow(DD-942)" in an exercise off the Virginia Capes in 2002 with 25 rounds of 5' 54 HE shells. Was a pretty cool gunnery exercise. somewhere I have it on video from the guns remote optical sensor.

we have AIC's in our office.. They teach AIC basic, Intermediate, supervisor, refresh, and the Air intercept week of SCAC(SCAC is a little ASTAC and even less AIC).
We are known to the world as Dam Neck Air Control or N733 Air Control.  Callsign is Clinch Control.

Not sure if I should tell you guys this, but I was a Secret Forces F-16 pilot in the CIA.  I was in for several years, but after my wingman was bit by a scorpion, I just couldn't go on.  Don't worry, hes better now.  In fact, we are starting a flight sim company soon.

Shifting Sands yes but the e-club part is lamer than ever and no-one goes there. The pig farm is now gone and it's all neighborhoods. That area is really starting to grow. They even 4-laned Dam Neck Rd.

Dam Neck is the Mecca for the OS rate. Alot of people start  and end their 20 years there. I love it. Nice and quiet. The only drawback is they made us an annex of NAS Oceana and we have to go TAD to Oceana's Security department every so often for a few months and be Navy Police.:(

edit: Just so you guys know "CoolRidr"( my ASTAC callsign ) is my alter ego on this BBS. I wanted to change but had to make a new profile to use this name.

US Army Reserves
3rd B, 3rd Bde 85th Div. Tng
1985-1992
19D20H

We were a pretty good reserve unit (and there were plenty in the division that weren't) with a regular Army mission and RA evaluators. About 30 percent or so were Vietnam combat veterans, one silver star two bronze stars. 50/50 mix DI's and Instructors. Kind of unique in that we were the cadre of a training unit, so there were virtually no ranks below E-4 when not on an active duty post or conducting divisional retraining.
