My friends flight simulator (big pictures)
« on: August 10, 2004, 11:28:11 PM »
Here are some pics of my friends flight sim.  He does not play AHII so don't ask for his callsign.

Some stats
3- 42 inch plasma's
1 computer per plasma
5 computers total

Flight Simulator 2004 with some of the following add-ons.....
project magenta
voice buddy
mega scenery
wide view

The simulation is incredible.  The sounds, graphics, everything.  The level of detail is great.
We took a flight from San Francisco to Reno.  Hope you all like it

Here is the golden gate bridge

On final into Reno

Pretty cool eh?

Wow.

That's as good a view of approaching the gate as they had the last time I was in the 767 sim.

This guy obviously has lots of money and lots of time on his hands. His cockpit mockup is amazing for "homemade".

Nice job!

yeah, but the pictures don't do real justice to the graphics on the plasmas

I am still trying to get him signed up to AHII

Golly-geen that is awesome!

btw one of my favorite flights is OAK to Reno.  reno is tricky approach, coming over Mt. Rose at 15000 the having to desence to 2000.  but i usually take squaw valley approach one in.

I think the FS detail is way better anyway. They don't bother very much with that in the simulators. For instance, space between runways is billiard table flat and just looks like it's painted green. They don't bother trying to make it look like "real" grass or dirt or anything.

Now he just needs six axis hydraulics under it.  ;)

Yes, MS FS cities always look like a painted patchwork, with a bew blocks standing out... too bad.
That being said, your friend's setup kicks a**!

That is sweet.  Why DOESN'T he play AH with a set-up like that?

If I ever won that Pepsi Billion thingie I would get something like that, no even better.  I'd probably buy a setup like that for all my squaddies.

Even banana...

Or.....

With the money I might just buy a real airplane.

Why not just buy a plane.  It's probably cheaper.

Flight simulator supports the multiple monitor setup right out of the box, AH does not.
