to HiTech: How to balance the countries and planesets
« on: August 17, 2004, 10:59:20 PM »
This is the idea how to balance the planeset and the countries and make customers happy.

There are several problems in MA now
1) The early war planes do not see a lot of action.
2) The country numbers are often kinda unbalanced.
3) Customers complain they are not allowed to fly
their favourite planes for the favourite countries.

To solve these problems and make customers happy HTC may like to consider the implementation of the different subscription plans for AHII:

The cheap plans should include only  early war planesets and the subscribers will be assigned to the weakest country each time they log into the MA.  Such plans should be very useful to persons who play AH occasionally or just who are not very interested in strategic things and squads but prefer to find the quick dogfight and have fun.

The expensive plans from the other hand should include the complete planeset and the abilities for subscribers to choose the favourite country and plane without restrictions. These plans should be ideal for dedicated players who prefer to fly for the particular country in the particular plane.

The subscription plans, prices and plansets are the matter of  further discussion.

wow....pay as you go. Neat Idea, you could even set it up so you got cash instead of perks...make the guys flying the top 10 pay between 10 cents and 25 cents per plane per sortie...you shoot em down you get credit for 1/2 the "buy in". It would allow those on a budget to fly for free (if they are any good) while allowing those who want fly the very best...I LIKE IT:D :rofl :aok

Does blue text come with that?;) :)

HiTech, I purchased a 1/5th of Cragganmore's.  Now I realize what I have been missing all of this time.

Only if you build Do-335 :)

Seriously speaking
I would better suggest $20-25 per month for premium plan
$15 per month for people who quite satisfied with current system
$5-10 per month for people who agree to fly only early war planes and participate in country-balancing system

I'll take the  bait and respond.

There is always the element of pitting your skills against another human.  That is why I like to fly on-line and not off-line against AI.

In pitting yourself against the other guy there is always the element of fairness.  Fairness does of course not count in a real war, but AH is not a real war.

Buying/selling better planes for money (not earned perks)  is not really any different than hacking.

yes and no AK...hacking is a manipulation of data as well as performance. "Better plane" is a relative term. almost all of the planes in the MA are pretty good. Recognizing the fact that a "double positive" plane will have a tremendous advantage I'd still say pilot is 80% of the equation.

Why?
Is it wrong to sell better car for better money or better features for better money?

You can not create the balanced gameplay without implementing some kinds of restrictions. (RPS, perk points, plane restrictions on country balance, time delay, etc) And the problem is that some people for sure will like it  but some will don't.

For example would you like to be auto-assigned to the outnumbered country each time you enter the MA? Guess you would not especially if you play in squad planning missions etc.
But for some people it doesn't matter and they will be pretty much happy to participate into auto-balancing system especially if they  get a small reward for this.

So the new system will bring the opportunity for each customer to choose the most appropriate plan for himself. That's the most flexible and fair way to keep things balanced.

This is really funny. Couple days ago I asked HTC how much I have to pay for my P51D.

Now I have answer. Only $100!? Where have you been? We would make a deal!
