P-38J in Olive Drab skin
« on: August 19, 2004, 08:13:25 AM »
Whenever there is a P-38 around everybody jumps it including me (who normally flies a 38).  Not only is it a big target, but it stands out because of it's bright silver color.  It's easy to see against the ground.  There's an OD Mustang, and an OD Thunderbolt.  Why not have an OD Lightning?  An OD P-38J would be a nice add-on.  This would sort of make up for the wider target area of the 38.
Hope the guys at Hi-tech read this.

Jolly nice idea ;)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Better get to skinnin!

Seriously, there is a major flaw in the existing P38 skin layout that prohibits a good reskin of the current art. There have been a few done but the flaws prevent their release. HTC is in the process of redoing the layouts of almost every plane with regards to skin-art. There WILL be some OD Lightnings, just don't hold your breath.
