Hey, I've got old AH1 film bouncing a spitty in a B-26 and peeling his wing off. -26's are very fightable if you keep it under 400 mph max and no higher than 350 when turnin and burnin.  :aok

I flew AW once... and that was at their last Con in Dallas. So the answer is no, no I have no idea what it was like to fly missions in a death star.

You missed it. The original Gunfighters made it a regular squad operation to load up a B17/B25/A26 with gunners and no bombs and head for the nearest furball. I did it once in a B25  for about 4 hours straight with Pyro and me gunning, and Pyro's brother Rabid driving. Also did it a bunch of times with DeadDuck driving the light B-17 and me and Wolfman gunning. Think of it as vulching a field with Air Warriors version of the AC130 Spooky. :D

I did my dogbuffing thingy in AW3.  With or without gunners  :D

Best was 32 kills in a 17 in RR eto, sole gunner with -->CO (CobraEye here in AH) flying, no other friendlies around. only 9 were vulches. we rtb'd after about 4 squaddies finally came to help clear the few remaining angry beavers off our 6.

In FR I'd often just frustrate the crap outta multiple bogies, often without a gunner. It was highly amusing to be chasing a F4u when I was "defenseless."  It was always fun when I could get someone to gun. Quite a few didn't like to ride with me because I refused to fly straight and level.  :lol   Those who didn't mind had a blast, I hope. :D

Man I had alot of fun in a26s. They just floated in the air. It could outturn everything in there except the zeke. And most times the guys flying them werent too good so I could pop them too from time to time. Gunner didnt do much other than be a "six watcher".

I remember the old Half Time arenas, I would go there and get in an A26 and stallfight the Zeke's and Spits. You should have heard all the squeals when you zap and Zeke in an A26 stallfighting. :)
