Aha.. never been to that museum. I spoke with my dad today and he was interested in going up to watch the HE111 that they are raising tomorrow. Maybe we will go.

While keeping them safe has its merits, a grounded bird is somewhat less than alive. When you hear it fired up and see it scream by at 300 MPH it becomes something else entirely.

What good are they sitting in a museum collecting dust?   A cardboard mock-up can serve the same purpose.   I'm all for flying the until there's no more left that can fly.

I saw her fly once (think it was that one) at the 50th anniversary of Bardufoss airfield, when I was a kid.
ummm i got picks of that plane at my local air show,,confederate airforce right?,,i watched it fly in about 3 years ago,,you sure it is not still flying? maybe they stopped flying her after that,,but i got picks of me standing next to one just 3 years ago,,2001 i beleve,,sure is a pretty plane,,it flew in with the confederate airforces b17 side by side,,i even got a heinkel he111 hat still in my room from it,,pilot told me it was the last flying one in the world,,use to be a spanish plane i beleve

here is a link to a web site on that plane,,its still in operations i beleve
