CM Request: What we need for Skins in SEA events
« on: September 07, 2004, 07:35:03 PM »
P-40E, A-20, Spitfire V and Hurricane II each with a Russian skin. The Finn-Russ map had them in AHI but of course, now the skins are seperate from the terrains.

We could really use these, so I hope there are a few out there that could help us out. Thx.

Geez, sound like a pesky 5 year old.  Heres my question restated:  Do you have anything specific in mind, or should I go and make any Russian spit?

Frankly, have been waiting a long time for CMs to speak up on what they need!! :)

For instance, all of the 15 spots including the default skin, of the P-51D is already full. I love those skins, and greatly respect  all the effort put into it by their creators.

However, when you look at those, you can't really say that its in anyway pre-planned or laid out well.  If there were any discussions to which P-51 skins would be needed, according the Events/Scenario/CT purposes, then it would have made a much more 'balanced' set.

Fortunately, other planes still have lots of space open. I hope there's some way we can categorize the skins that should be included. For instance, concerning Bf109s, the most important skin for 1940 would be those of the Bf109Es of the JG2 and JG26. For the Bf109F-4s, JG27 of the Africa Corps. and JG54 in the Eastern Front would be really needed.

That camo does not look like British.  Has it been repainted in black and green, or dark green and green?

That would be interesting.  What is that wierd stripe-like pattern forward of the cockpit?  The early black-edged star is interesting, too...

Great P-40 Citabria. One question though so I can insure mine is accurate too did P-40s use a gray primer on the complete aircraft?  My black and white photos make it look white.  I'd like to be sure the undercoat is correct.  Thanks in advance.

I've just started work on the A-20G/Boston but it'll be a month or two until its finished. I'll move the Soviet skins to the top of the pile though. Would you prefer a Boston or an A-20G first?

Great looking P-40E, ya we need that one.

Would prefer the A-20G 1st Greebo, thx.

As for the Spit V, no it doesnt have to be any specific one no, any VVS skin that looks good Im sure will be appreciated.

We just need to get some Lend Lease a/c skinned Russian, just thought I would give you lads some feedback on what we need. I will let other CMs jump in as time goes Im sure there will be other requests.

US aircraft in British or Russian lend lease skins is an obvious need, since the default skins are all US.

***Also, LW a/c and Russian a/c in winter camoflage***, there is another area we could use. Plenty to do if you consider skins then for Russian lend lease types (summer and winter), and LW winter camoflage.

Winter IL-2 skin is another we can use.

Thanks.

It is British, but its painted different from other spitfires.  From what I know of this one, it was manufactured in Britain with all of the Russian markings and exceptions, and flown directly to the front lines where it was put into service immediately.

I cannot find any information about the stripe forward of the cockpit.  This is also the only original photo of the aircraft I can find, but I have several Plastic Model pictures of it.

Im thinking I may do this one next
