RogerWilco and Joystick tranmit key
« on: March 31, 2000, 02:01:00 PM »
To start, I assign the delete key as my transmit key in RogerWilco.

then, I go into AH keyset and assign the delete button to Key Mic.

Followed by going into AH stickset and assign Key Mic to button 5 on my stick.

When in the game I try to use button 5 but it wont transmit.  Tranmission does work By pressing delete on my keyboard.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Yeager

I've had exactly the same problem... mapped it to a joystick button but it still won't transmit...  Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers all

Yeager, have you tested the mike key within RW interface?  Under Adjustments, there's alittle test thingy, if  it's not working there, its not working in the game either, also, make sure you have RW fired up BEFORE you enter AH.

Guys just a quick note here. Make sure that when you programed button into the joystick, you select an option that countiniously sends a keystroke while you holding joystick button down.  For TM F22 I think it's an option /N or something (I didn't program my stick in a while, using my 2 year old Warbirds configuration for AH   )

Hope this helps,

Hmmm I've had the same problem.

I like to use the tilde key for RW (nothing else uses it that i've found) Set it up in keymapping & in stick mapping, yet no go.

You may be onto something in that it's not signalling it to hold it down.

I don't map it in AH, but I do on my CH Pro Throttle. Works fine for me.

Ditto for me and My CH-F16 Combat Stick.  Why would you want to "map it in AH" when you already did so in RW anyway?

The mic function and RW are total unrelated .

The mic functions is just there for future use.

I have my RW keying on "T" and mapped in the sidewinder activator button 3 for "T".  Everythign seems to work fine. If I find I am not transmitting I bring up the activator and close it and things are smooth.

I got mine mapped to the 'secondary weapon' button on my MS FF using the microsoft profile activator. I've been transmitting from my stick for over a year now, works like a charm.

I think you guys might be confused with the AH transmit key mapping and just assigning a button on your joystick to be your personal transmit button.

I currently have Thrustmaster stuff and simply went into my Thrustmaster software and told it to use button #XYZ to be a "u" key when pushed. I also told it to continually send out the letter u  for as long as I hold down that key. Then go to RW and tell it the "u" key is to be the transmit key.

I did nothing in the AH key mapping page.

Has worked fine since day 1.

Thanks for all the replies fellas

My problem is that I use a SWPP (SideWinder, Precision Pro) and cannot use the profiler because I lose the view system.

I guess what I need is to be able to use the AH program to assign a key for mic activation.

Thanks again guys.

One think I also notice, is that Aces High has to be completely closed out when starting RW.  Don't know why, but im in receive only when I start Aces High 1st.  This problem may be specific to my system.........don't really know!
