Gunsight & C...

Well, well, here I am again

A couple of questions and comments :

Gunsight
I have set my gun convergence zone to 350 compared to 400 as it used to be, now, my question is : is the gunsight ajusted regarding that, I mean this : as an ex-grunt, I used to fire with a Scoped Rifle (FN-Fal with IPBR Scope), now, when I was firing to a certain distance , I would set the scope up, and it would "calculate" the bullet drop for that distance (You would of course have to set wind-drift manualy...). Is this the way that Gunsight in AH work as well, or are they just fixed ?

Bailing out
Couldn't help but to notice that I was able to bail out while my AC was spinning badly towards the ground at high speed, and i could bail out safely...wouldn't it be fun if this would cause deaths/blackouts (preventing pressing the O key)...well, more realistic then (Fun might not be the right word here   ).

Warping
Well, i saw quite a few posts on that, but never suffered it myself untill yesterday...(Rudder with oposite roll creates warping)...ok, but I had a P510 in sight last night and he did this EVERY TIME I had him in my sight...he would then move left to right from my sight at an amazig pace...
If this is an evasive maneuvre I didn't know about, ok...if this is intentional warping, I only have one word for you, it starts with a "W" and I am not going to use it on this BB...

There is a solution.  I do this offline so I can waste lots of rounds tweaking the bullet drop compensation. Using the page up and down keys after zooming-in in the default front view, I am able to put the gunsight pipper where most of the bullets cross after resetting my convergence range.  It gets time consuming doing this for every plane so I set them all at once and fly the same weapons load-out I did the calibration with.

Testing , again offline, I fly towards a steep hill in auto-level and open fire at max range to the ground.  As the ground impact sprites and dirt plumes move up in the gunsight, I watch for the smallest impact area to coincide right where the pipper is.  Keep flying until ground impact so that you know the shell trajectories are not being influenced by control inputs.  This assumes you have a pipper or center dot on the gunsight.  Some planes are affected in pitch by the recoil of the guns, so you may also need to adjust the drop compensation for your shooting style; be it short burst or long ones.

Saintaw, When you change the convergance it both the elevation and the inward angle are adjusted for the guns.

I doubt we will add bail force limits.

As far as warping goes, what you saw sounds like the p51 had a classic bad connection. With how things are smothed out, warps don't typicaly happen until the other guy starts changing directions.

Thx for the reply Hitech,

Ok, will be able to improve those poor gunnery skills I have now then

NP about the Bail out speed, I will try to get shot down less

CC on connection, I think if Modem users take a look at my post (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum1/HTML/001718.html) it might help, I have seen a SERIOUS improvement since I did that...

Cheerio !
