Back when I posted
this thread, some of you said something like "just wait for the tazer training." Well, it came today.
Wow.
Knelt on a wrestling mat with a spotter on each arm. The instructor alligator clipped the two prongs to my shirt, one near the back of the left shoulder and the other above my right butt cheek. He backs off, asks if you're ready, and....
ZAAAAPPPPPP!!!
It lasted for a second or so, but I kicked the wire and pulled my shirt out far enough that the electricity wasn't arcing into my back. It hurt, but wasn't terrible. So being the fool I am, I said I wanted it again so I'd get a full 5 second hit.
Five seconds is much worse. Much, much worse. When it hit me I kind of knew what to expect from the first little hit, but still let out with a growl. All the muscles in my back contracted like no other, and of course there's the feeling of 50,000 volts going through my back. Hurts like hell. After about 3 seconds (eternity), I fell over onto my stomach and rode out the rest of it face down. For some reason the pain gets worse when you're on the ground.
Finally though, it ended. Compared to the pepper spray, the tazer is nice because when it's done, it's done. Just a little tingling for a bit, and two burn blisters where the electricity was arcing. Not like the pepper spray that has you feeling effects for up to 24 hours.
All in all... it sucks, but it sure is a great feeling when it stops.
