paulobrien6969,
We lived in Luton in an old section of row houses, 1959-61. My father was stationed at Chicksands as a USAF russian linguist. I went to a grade school in Luton where I had to wear a uniform. Nickers, blazer, beenie cap, knee socks, loafers. Teachers used rulers liberaly upon our erstwhile littel kesters. I remember on the road to the Dunstable Downs a WW2 memorial with a spit and a hurrican. We stopped in once and the color sargent let me sit in the spit.
If you go to this web site and look near the bottom you will see a picture of my father at Dunstable in the Slingsby Tutor he soloed to get his Silver C.
