Edit: ack down 2mins hangers 5mins now this is just getting retarded y not up the ammo load 100 times and set fuel burn to 0.001

I am sorry that we aren't able to accomodate 100% of the players 100% of the time but with the rash of milkrunning that has been taking place at all hours of the night I decided to go with this setup.

Besides the time frame represented doesn't allow for any offensive land operations by either side on other than the occasional commando raid and you can still do that by baling out of your plane at any time near a base or town.

:aok :p

Anytime you guys wish to take this or any other matter up with me privately. My email is in the signature and I will answer it as soon as I get it.

ummm this setup (plane set "fudges" aside) *is* historical...

during this period the allies had no presence on mainland europe, the LW was no longer seriously threatening england either in air or by sea.

this was the time of the allied buildup in england, the war for the atlantic being pretty much over (and won). this period marked the mid-point in allied heavy bombing of industrial targets in France, Germany and countries around.

there wasn't much for the land forces on either side to do, the ponys had begun to arrive, easing pressure on the 38's escort role. the early jugs also arrived, but with fairly short legs and teething problems.

this left the allied medium bombers, and lighter jabos like the mossie and typh, with escort by spits and the early jugs/ponys, free to start tearing up coastal france and inwards in preparation for the invasion the following year, particulary airfields and rails.

most of the serious german action was east in russia and south in africa, with an impenmding invasion of italy by the allies.

yanno, the MA just might be for you truekill, it more suits your capture the flag style, but then it's harder to milk with buffs and gv's in the MA i guess :rofl

or you can use this opportunity to actually learn to fly a fighther better and work on them "historical" tactics such as proper escort and whatnot.

base capture has absolutely no place in this particular set up - it's simply not historical at this point.

it *was* a prime directive of the allied air forces to begin the destruction of the luftwaffe during this time frame.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.

The spawn points on this map kind of make GV battles non existant. Even if one those beach Vbases are captured they are milked during the wee hours.

Well, a nice surprise.

Clear conditions in the arena - as close as possible to the way they were at that time - I finally believe it is possible :).
The necessary adaptations to create the scenario are clearly stated.  I'll bet 1$ it did not take much fudging parameters to get it done.

GV's are a necessary inclusion in WWII scenarios,  when & where they were used, as ships also played their roles.  War was never a 'single' armament confrontation, like CT seemed to be pressured into.  But it did happen - like this week's setup.  I just hope this setup will rotate with others, all different - sometimes catering to some people, some catering to others.

But, when the 'times' call for what was involved, gv's, a/c, bathtubs, sticks & stones, mebbe rubber bands & paper clips, it certainly will represent WWII better and so make it a historical scenario. ... hum, or is it histerical ?

It will be a pleasure to participate in an arena that offers variety along historical ... lines,  sometimes a/c only, sometimes a mixture of some or all possibilities available.

MA's problem is that it is never different - always the same, just the maps change.  MA grew to what it is and will stay there forever, biz is biz and the $$ have to roll in.
CT has the chance to offer a multitude of scenarios with different setups way beyond MA - the proof is here with this setup - it's ... different.

Btw, if I don't have gv's, I won't use them, I won't even THINK of them.  No big deal, I can live with that easily, as much as I enjoy the all-round battles.

Oh, I still cannot find the 'green' tiger in the 'red' country, but if it's there I'll find it, and use it, M8's or no M8's - hehe.

I agree with Taxi. I dont see a problem with leaving out parts of the inventory like GV's or goons if they were not an important part of the real events. The CT should (and I think the staff do) try to have as much variety as possible to please everyone as often as they can.

C'mon .... you can whine better than that. Can'tcha?

Fly a gorram plane and dogfight for a week and ween yourself from focusing on nothing but playing RISK High ... errr ... Low.

Pretend it's TOD where you are a pilot assigned to .... well ... fly an airplane. ;)

Well ... it certainly won't be the endless furball that seems to bore you to tears. However ... with TOD you'll have to create a pilot character and perform missions that are focused at giving a sense of immersion. It'll be highly unlikely that it'll allow your pilot to take an M3, load it up with ten super-troopers and capture porked out airfields. So there'll still be an excuse to whine. :D
